Motion Detecting Surveillance Camera
- Project date: June 2020
Once I gained bit of confidence with integrated circuit boards, I decided to start experimenting with motion detection. I saw that in the current security camera market, most cameras are stationary and can only record footage of a certain field of view unless there is someone behind the camera controlling it. Thats when I decided to make this device. It keeps rotating with the use of a stepper motor and analyses if there is any motion. If motion is detected it takes a photo and stores it on my local NAS drive. This taught me both how to anylyse photos for motion and also send media through a network from a raspberry pi to be stored on a storage device stored elsewhere.
